Assembling Past & Future aims to make visible and amplify the voices of people who have worked toward justice, empowerment, and decolonization, both past and present.
Assembling Past and Future is a collaborative video project developed with a network of cultural workers and peace activists. It transforms the exhibition space into a virtual congress or assembly, bringing together voices from different generations to explore the connections between historical and contemporary struggles for peace, justice, empowerment, and decolonization.
The project combines historical images and texts, including materials from the First International Congress of Women held in The Hague in 1915, with statements and portraits of activists recorded a century later. By placing these materials in dialogue, Assembling Past and Future aims to make visible and amplify the voices of people committed to social and political change, both past and present.
